Non holiday related December kodak moments

Life is rough when you get stuck trying to reach that toy in the bottom and your mom runs for the camera instead of helping you. Funny!

I still get to hog these three to myself all day. I love watching them interact with each other. I don't know what we'll do without our Libster next year. She's quite the big sister.

Kellan was pretty much gone the first half of December. It was rough on the kids of course, but we tried to do special things to keep us distracted from Dad being gone. Movie night with the Muppets is always awesome. More awesome for me since Truman fell asleep before 10 without a fight. Its the little things for us all sometimes. 

That's pretty much how we survived/enjoyed the first half of December once again. Finals week and group projects are still the bane of my existence, but I'm really proud of Kellan and as much as I hate to admit it I think its taught me that I am stronger that I think/want to be and I can stand on my own two feet. 

Thanksgiving

I think its safe to say that Thanksgiving is the highlight of the Bird year. I think we all enjoy showing off what we can bake/cook to each other and get raves and validation that we are in fact incredible in the kitchen. So basically its a brag/rave fest. As far as pie goes we went crazy and had 16 this year! That's one per person including the one year olds. It was amazing! My favorites were all of them. It was awesome to have everyone there especially Keith who had only been home from the mission a few weeks. 

My baby. I just want to kiss him to pieces. Sweetest baby ever.

Happy Birthday Truman!

My boy is 3! Its a good thing this kid is so darn sweet and charming and hilarious because he's equally destructive that's for sure!

Truman's Birthday is 2 days after Halloween. Which means I'm pretty much burned out. Poor kid. At least its not 2 days after Christmas. We managed to pull together a fun day for him though. Kellan's family came up for the day and had homemade monster doughnuts with us and took us to Chickaflay for lunch. I'm glad we had their help to make it special for him!

3!!! I can't believe he's 3!

When I asked him what he wanted for his birthday all he would tell me was "blue" I think he was kind of confused about what it meant to be his Birthday. He really loved the blue sprinkles for our doughnuts.

Also a glow in the dark star (from Anne) and a tick-tock crocodile. (He's really into Jake and the never land pirates show)

From Gramma and Grampa a super hero cap that gets well used and a batman car that Miles still can't touch without him freaking out. 

By the time my mom and dad gave him their present at Thanksgiving he had the Birthday thing figured out and was pretty stoked to have another present. Now he tells me at least every other week that its his Birthday and what cake and presents he wants.

Halloween

We pulled together some pretty stellar costumes this year if I don't say so myself!

This year we had the ward trunk or treat the night before Halloween. It was fun to have two nights to put on the costumes.

On Halloween we drove back in to our old neighborhood and went trick-or-treating with our old friends the Lamberts. Alayna and Sara were so happy to be together again!

Afterward we watched Charlie Brown and counted the loot.

Pumpkin Painting/Carving

This year we let each kid paint and carve a pumpkin. That meant gutting 5 pumpkins. I think next year we'll stick to painting. But the kids sure loved them all.

The Pumpkin Walk

We go to the Pumpkin Walk every October, but it never gets blogged about because there are too many other things happening at the same time. Its something the kids look forward to every year though so I thought I'd make sure to blog this years P.W. pictures.

As cool as the pumpkin displays are, my kids favorite part are the character cutouts at the end. I must have hundreds of these photos from the last 5 years. Each kids wants their picture in every single cut out and they think they are hilarious. Truman Yoda is hilarious.
