First story: About 2 1/2 weeks ago the girls and I were eating lunch when Sara leaned across the table for something, fell backward, and cracked the back of her head open on our base board (ours stick out about 1/2 in. from the wall). At first I just thought she had hit her head, but then the blood came. Actually it spurted and then gushed into a big pool beneath her. We actually all stayed pretty calm, although I was definately freaking out inside! Kellan had taken the van and gone to school. So, I had no way to get a hold of him, and no transportation. So of course I called Tee. Because her presense fixes anything in a panic. Once she got there we decided to try calling the buisness building and seeing if some secretary would go find Kellan's class and tell him to come home. Miraculously, that worked and he was home in 10 minutes. Tee watched Anne and Libby while I drove Kellan to work and Sara to the InstaCare where our old branch president Dr. King stapeled the back of her head shut. She had broke through 4 out of 5 layers of skin and you could see her skull under the last layer. Pretty gross. 4 staples later, it was all better. She actually enjoyed the whole InstaCare experience she got suckers, stickers, was able to watch Nemo on her own DVD player, and hardley noticed them putting her head back together. She also enjoyed telling her story to other quite a bit (she must have Jones genes).

Next: We had blast doing Halloween things. Here a few pics of that. They're self explanatory, so I'll refrain from writing a novel here.

What you've all been waiting for:
So I've been scheduled to be induced Nov. 5 for the last couple of weeks. During Libby's delivery her shoulders got stuck for a moment. It's called shoulder dystocia and can be very serious, although in Libby's case it wasn't too bad. That meant that this time around the Dr. was very cautious about the baby getting too big and a shoulder dystocia happening again. So he had me scheduled to be induced at 39 weeks. At 38 weeks I was measuring 40 cm instead of 38. So when the Dr. got back into town on Mon. (Nov. 2) he called us up to come in for an ultra-sound to estimate the baby's size. So we went in around 3:00pm. The ulra-sound estimated his weight to be 5lbs. 10 oz. and in the 4.9% for growth. So now instead of being worried that he was too big the Dr. was worried about why he was so small. Long story short, the weird measurments gave the Dr. a good enough reason to induce me at 38 1/2 weeks (IHC won't let him induce before 39- regardless of a previous shoulder dystocia). So, since the hospital was already booked for Tues. and they weren't busy right then, the Dr. recommended that I grab the chance and walk over to the hospital to be induced immediately. So we got to the hospital at 4:00pm. They broke my water and got me my epidural about 6:00pm. We realized we didn't have the camera about 6:30pm. Kellan got back with the camera about 7:00pm. I was ready to start pushing at 8:00pm. Then things got a little scarry. Not only did the baby's shoulders get stuck, but his unusually short cord had gotten wrapped very tightly around his neck. So the Dr. couldn't lift it over his head (Normally the cord is long enough to just slip it over the baby's head) and he couldn't cut it off, because he didn't know how long it might take to get his shoulder's unstuck. So the cord problem made the shoulder dystocia problem worse and the shoulder problem made the cord problem worse. Thankfully, they were able to get him far enough out that they could cut the cord and then work on his shoulders. It took him a few moments to start breathing, but was just fine, other than a severely bruised face and head. No surprize, he was not a 6 lb baby, he was a 7 lb 14 oz baby! They have no idea why the ultra-sound estimate was over 2 lbs off, but I know it's because I needed to be induced that day, otherwise it could have been a lot worse. I'm so grateful he's here and we're both healthy with no long term effects (other than my being done with vaginal deliveries. Our future children will definately be c-sections!)
So here he is-

Anne and Sara absolutely adore him! When Kellan broght him in the house Anne and Sara started shouting, "Truman's Here, Truman's Here!" like they've known him for years. Libby on the other hand has been dethroned as Queen Baby and wouldn't even look at him the first night, let alone get close enough to him for a picuture. She's warming up to him slowly though.
