Eastering Saga

So Easter weekend was like 3 weekends rolled into one. Needless to say, we've been in recover mode for the last few weeks.

Thurs. morning we finally left for Kellan's Grandma's funeral 45 min late only to realize we had packed the roof bag for the van so full that we couldn't back out of the garage. So, unpack, reload, 15 more min late and we're on our way.

Meanwhile, Anne had been complaining about a stomach ache, which in my rush to get going I brushed off. You can see it coming, I know. About Ogden Anne errupted all over poor Sara, who looked at me like "what on earth did Anne just do to me?" Pull off, clean up, on our way again. Lovely puke smell.

Thankfully, they weren't in their church clothes yet, and its a good thing because Sara puked next with Anne's round 2 not far behind. No time to pull off, clean up as we're going. Luckily no cops noticed. Finally made it to the funeral. Quick baby wipe sponge baths and throw on the dresses.

Our plan was to continue to Cleveland after the funeral, but hung out at Gramma Mai's to let the girls rest, do some laundry, and try to get the van smelling sweeter.
Note: the only thing worse than a puke-smell-car is a puke-smell+febreeze-smell-car.

We did think about just going home, but the girls insisted they felt fine and they did seem to be over the puke part at least. So that evening we continued our journey.

Pleasant Grove, more puke. Sara again. By now it hardly phased us as we were experts at the puke clean up.
Make it to Gramma Evels and crash on the front room floor. Whew.

Next morning everyone felt great. So we joined my family out on the desert for a little thing we Carbon/Emery people like to call Eastering. Thankfully, my parents got a trailer this year. The highlight for the girls was sleeping there Friday night. Kellan and I went back into Cleveland with Truman and Libby for the night.

Sat. we went back out for Breakfast and the arrival of the Easter Bunny. Then, since the weather wasn't so grand, we headed back into Cleveland with everyone. The rest of Sat. and Sun. was pretty uneventful, thankfully. We relaxed, listened to conference (as much as possible with 4 little ones) and colored eggs. My brothers hid the girls eggs and they had a ball finding them. Finally Sun. night we made it home. Pretty crazy. It's been nice to just be home lately and thankfully the van has aired out a bit.

The Easter Bunny brought My-little-ponies and dum-dum suckers. He also brought loads of chocolate candy which my girls couldn't care less about. Which is too bad, because I had to eat it instead. Someday I'll remember when I'm at the store that all they want is a bag of suckers- someday.

Girls night deorating eggs durning Preisthood session. Good times!

Egg Hunt.

I couldn't help add one more of Truman. He's such a good baby. This is pretty much what he does all day inbetween naps and food. Sits and watches everyone come and go. He can roll. He just chooses not to most of the time.
